VP of Alumni Affairs

Hey everyone, I know it's been a while, my appologies. Anyways, lots o' stuff going on (part of the reason I haven't posted in a while). This past weekend I went to the National Conference Meeting for Alpha Phi Delta. This is the one meeting of the year held by my fraternity where we take care of all the business of the fraternity in one day. It was held at Ramapo College in Mahwah, New Jersey.
Anyways I went to this meeting with a couple of the undergrads from my chapter so they'd be there to vote on stuff and keep informed of what's happening in the fraternity. It was a great time. My first road trip with my new car (it survived! although some asshole in a half-ton truck almost took out my door when he pulled into a parking spot like a bat outta hell, and of course he acted like it was my fault).
Here's the kicker of the whole trip. I'm now the Executive Vice President of Alumni Affairs for Alpha Phi Delta (the whole thing). Now tell me that ain't crazy! I was elected by the alumni at the council meeting. I'm now in charge of keeping alumni involved with the alumni clubs and undergrad chapters around them, and getting those who have been away for awhile back involved.
So needless to say, I'm gonna have my hands full for a while, but I'm looking forward to it! I have some ideas (and am accepting ideas from anyone that has them to share). Well, that's all for this post folks! Check back soon, I have two more topics to post, but I'm gonna pace myself. Holla at yur boy.

Congratulations on your new position! I'm sure you're going to do a great job and I was trying to think of some of the Alumnae things that we do for sorority and the most successful ones seem to be the least formal. I'm not sure exactly what your role in the whole thing is, but the Alum Association near Ashland did a dinner or happy hour everyother week and they also had a golf group. They got good turn outs because it was pretty informal and you could come when you wanted to - plus everyone needs to eat.
Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions Elisabeth! The more help I get, the better. It should be interesting to see how this new position goes.
